Making My Mortgage Payment: Automatic Withdrawal

Not too long ago, I closed on a new home. It’s been very exciting. And now, of course, it is time for reality to set in. In a couple of weeks, I will be making my first mortgage payment. But I won’t have to worry about whether or not it is late. I’m using automatic withdrawal.

Instead of having to write a check each month, making a mortgage payment through automatic withdrawal means that my lender has authorization to take the money right from my bank account. How convenient! When I’m on vacation, I don’t have to worry about writing checks for my mortgage payment. And, with my personal finance software, I have it set up so that the mortgage payment is automatically deducted from my register.

And the coolest thing? When I set up my mortgage payment on automatic withdrawal, the lender let me choose the date of the withdrawal. So instead of being due on the first of each month, I won’t have it deducted until the 15th.
