Wall Street Watches for News from Ambac

Reports have been circulating since yesterday that bond insurer Ambac is close to a bailout deal. This news helped provide a stock market rally yesterday afternoon, and is contributing to the likelihood of a successful open this morning. The Wall Street Journal reports on the importance of Ambac and other bond insurers on Wall Street today:

Bond insurers are sure to be in focus, after reports a day earlier that troubled bond insurer Ambac
is near a deal on an infusion of capital to shore up its business. The
bailout hopes also contributed to Tuesday’s late-day rally to help U.S.
    stocks finish well off lows.
