The question on everyone’s mind right now is this one: Who’s next?
Indeed, there is all sorts of speculation about whether Washington Mutual is really auctioning itself off. And even more speculation on who might be willing to buy WaMu. With big investment banks dropping like flies (AIG, Lehman, Merrill and now Morgan Stanley in talks to sell itself to Wachovia), it’s no wonder that we’re starting to wonder where the next shoe will drop.
No big savings and loan has gone down yet, so maybe WaMu it will be. Perhaps now is the time to consider keeping your deposits to less than $100,000…
