One of the things that you have to consider when you are buying a home is the insurance. Indeed, most mortgage lenders require that you get homeowner insurance as part of the process. This can be a great thing, and in many cases your home and possessions will be protected (and you will be able to cover liability issues).
You should note, however, that homeowner insurance does not cover everything home-related. You might find that there are several things not covered by your policy. Here are some of the things you should ask about when you purchase homeowner insurance:
* Damage from mold and water.
* Terrorism, war and nuclear accidents.
* Backed up sewer damage.
* Damage as a result of natural disasters. This includes wildfire, earthquake and flood.
* Liability for someone getting hurt on a trampoline.
* Bites from a dog that you keep on the property.
* Luxury items and computer equipment.
You can usually buy extra insurance coverage to make sure these items are taken care of.
