Ah, the weekend. I go and relax, and try to avoid the news — especially financial news. And then Monday comes along and I get to find out about all the stuff that took place over the weekend. Just because I’m relaxing doesn’t mean that the news makers are.
Today, I woke up to find that AIG is getting a newer bailout package – one that puts the total up to $150 billion, luxury retreat and other silliness notwithstanding.
The other interesting bit of news is that there is a Chinese economic stimulus package in the works. China announced a $586 billion stimulus package. And, since the U.S. is nowhere near that (hint: the $700 billion rescue doesn’t count as a stimulus), it is likely that another stimulus package is on the way from our own government.
Finally, I thought I’d share this interesting graphic that Green Pastures brought to my attention:
Happy Monday!
